Child SupportTimeline
In Colorado, child support generally continues until the child reaches 19, the state's age of emancipation. There are exceptions in both directions: support can extend past 19 if the child is still in high school (typically until the month after graduation) or has a disability that prevents self-support, and it can end earlier if the child marries, enters active military duty, or otherwise becomes emancipated. When there are multiple children, support has to be recalculated as each one ages out rather than dropping automatically.
