The Sworn Financial Statement
Terminology
During Divorce
Colorado
The Sworn Financial Statement (JDF 1111), or "SFS," is a detailed, under-oath snapshot of your finances, income, monthly expenses, assets, and debts, that both spouses must complete and file in essentially every Colorado case. It's the backbone of decisions about property division, maintenance, and child support, so accuracy matters. You sign it under penalty of perjury, and underreporting income or hiding assets can impact your credibility and your case. Colorado's Rule 16.2 imposes an affirmative duty of full and honest disclosure: you must reveal relevant information even if your spouse never asks. Fill it out carefully, gather the backup documents, and keep a copy. If your finances are complicated (self-employment, a business, irregular income), this is a form that you should get help reviewing.
