Denver
The rest of the Denver metro is spread across a few districts, and which one you're in depends on your county. The 1st Judicial District covers Jefferson and Gilpin counties, with the main courthouse in Golden. The 20th is Boulder County, in Boulder. The 17th covers Adams and Broomfield counties, centered in Brighton for cases in Adams county and Broomfield for cases in Broomfield county. All of the districts handle dissolutions under the same statewide law; each has Family Court Facilitators and a self-help center, and each can order mediation before a contested temporary and/or permanent orders hearing, sometimes through the state courts' Office of Dispute Resolution, which offers lower-cost mediators. The differences are local procedures: parenting-class providers, scheduling habits, and whether hearings are in person or virtual. Check your specific district's page for those details and file in the county where you or your spouse lives.
