Colorado's court fees are set statewide, therefore they don't change county to county the way some states' do. As of early 2026, the fee to file a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage is $230, and the responding spouse's fee is $116; e-filing adds a small charge (around $12). These figures do change, and you should confirm the current amounts with the clerk or the Colorado Judicial Branch fee schedule. If you genuinely can't afford the fees, you can file a motion to waive them (form JDF 205) based on financial hardship, and the court can approve a waiver. Beyond court fees, budget for service of process (a private process server typically runs $50-$100) and, if you have kids, a parenting class.
