In Colorado, a "divorce" is called "dissolution of marriage," and is governed by the Uniform Dissolution of Marriage Act (Title 14, Article 10 of the Colorado Revised Statutes). It's the same thing as a divorce, a court order (a "decree") that legally ends the marriage and resolves property, debt, parenting, maintenance, and support. The spouse who files is the "petitioner"; the other is the "respondent." Couples who agree can file together as "co-petitioners."
